Yvonne van Duijnhoven
Yvonne Van Duijnhoven currently works as Director of the GGD Rotterdam-Rijnmond (working area of 13 municipalities in Rotterdam-Rijnmond (1.3 million inhabitants). She is trained in biomedical sciences (specialized in epidemiology), and as a health care manager and advisor in public health and crisis management (representing the health sector). Formerly she was head of the Department Infectious diseases and Inspection, at the GGD Amsterdam and held several research and management positions at the National Institute for Public Health (RIVM).

Hans-Guido Mück
Dr. Hans-Guido Mücke is a Senior Scientist at the German Environment Agency (Umweltbundesamt, UBA) in Berlin and Deputy Head of the Section for Environmental Medicine and Health Effects Assessment. With over three decades of experience in environmental health research, he specializes in air quality, climate change, and their impacts on public health.
Since 1993, Dr. Mücke has led the WHO Collaborating Centre for Air Quality Management and Air Pollution Control at UBA, fostering international cooperation with the WHO European Centre for Environment and Health and partners across the 53 Member States of the WHO European Region. He was instrumental in shaping Germany’s Climate Change Adaptation Strategy (2008) and has overseen numerous national and international projects on heat extremes, air pollution, and health adaptation policies.
As a key contributor to Germany’s Heat Action Plans, Dr. Mücke co-authored national recommendations to protect public health from extreme heat events. He recently represented Germany as a national delegate at the 7th WHO Ministerial Conference on Environment and Health in Budapest (2023). His research has been widely published, with recent work focusing on heat-related mortality, climate change and non-communicable diseases, and health risks associated with increasing temperatures.
