"Rotterdams Weerwoord" is the climate adaptation program of the City of Rotterdam, dedicated to creating a resilient city in response to climate change. The program focuses on enhancing the city's ability to handle extreme weather conditions such as heavy rainfall, heatwaves, and droughts. Key initiatives include increasing green spaces, improving water management systems, and promoting sustainable urban planning. "Rotterdams Weerwoord" collaborates with residents, businesses, and experts to implement innovative solutions that safeguard the city's future, ensuring a livable and thriving environment for all.

With the LivingLab District Approach Heat we are developing 'the next step' in the heat plan. Where the National Heat Plan is being implemented in a more refined and customised way in the local heat plan, here we are developing the step towards the capillaries in the neighbourhood, towards where the people live who are at risk to their health in a situation of serious heat. The neighbourhoods with a low SES receive extra attention, because "the poorest neighbourhoods are the warmest neighbourhoods".
